Born with an Armour and ear-rings, and bequeathed as a gift from Surya to an unwed Kunthi (M.V. Rajamma), Karna (Shivaji Ganesan) is abandoned so as to prevent embarrassment for her. He is set afloat in the Ganga, rescued and adopted by a horse-carriage driver, who is employed with Raja Dhritarashtra. Instead of adapting to his foster father's profession, he was more interested in obtaining training as a warrior. Upon being refused, he turned to Suryadev, and learned all aspects of warfare - little knowing that soon he will be befriended by Rajkumar Dhuryodhan (S.A. Ashokan), and be compelled to take up arms against the Pandavas - the sons of none other than Kunthi herself.

Although born in a noble family, sired by Suryadev and Kunti Devi, Karna is abandoned, and set afloat in the Ganga. He is rescued and adopted by a charioteer, Adhiratha, and his wife, Radha. After he matures, he wants to become a warrior, and learns required skills with the help of Suryadev and Sage Parshuram. After doing so, he will excel in archery, befriend Rajkumar Dhuryodhan and partner with him in the Kurkushetra battle against the remainder of Kunti's five sons.

Kundan is the son of a honorable teacher recognized for his contributions to the community, and is a poet himself. When his sister's marriage is arranged to a goon's son and later falls apart due to dowry demands, he needs to take revenge. Raja Raghupathi Rao, a generous Zamindar of Sripuram, iswell-renowned for his charity & humanity, and leads a happy family life with his wife, Susheela, sister Lakshmi, and two sons, Shekar & Chakravarthy. On numerous occasions he comes to the assistance of a CBI Officer, Vijay Sharma, then meets and falls in love with his daughter, Kiran Sharma. Unfortunately, Vijay gets killed, and both Kiran and Shankar band together to look for his killers. The question is whether Shankar will be able to successfully avenge Vijay's death, and if at all he will be re-united with his sister, Guddiya. What Shankar does not know that his mother is in jail, convicted for killing his very own father, Masterji, while purportedly having an affair with a male from their village.
